Editorial: Climate risks, resilience and adaptation in coastal systems
On this Research Topic and are glad to introduce the following five articles (Figure 1) from Australia, Bangladesh, Denmark, the United States, and Venezuela.
Methodological approaches to assess climate vulnerability and cumulative impacts on coastal landscapes
In this article, we review some approaches used in the assessment of climate vulnerability and marine and coastal cumulative environmental impacts to know the state of the art on the subject. In addition, we qualitatively assess the climate vulnerability of five coastal regions of Venezuela using the IPCC Reasons for Concern (RFC) concept to determine their level of climate exposure. We also assess the cumulative environmental impact of multiple stressors on marine and terrestrial ecosystems using a known partially modified impact assessment method to explore the feasibility of this model in data-poor areas.
